Clitheroe Wine Society

The Clitheroe Wine Society meet at The Old Post House Hotel in Clitheroe on the last Tuesday for nine months of the year. We break for the summer and do not have meetings in July or August. We do not have a meeting in December.

 

Each November we have a social dinner when together with our partners were we enjoy fine food matched with specially chosen wines.

Members sought. We are currently well supported but between the 1 bottle and 2 bottles of each wine stage in terms of numbers. If you are interested in joining please contact our secretary.

 What you will need

You will need two ISO glasses for most tastings. Occasionally other glasses are required.

A pen and a file for your notes is very useful. Tastings sheets will be given out at each session.

You can bring water for cleansing your palate between wines. If you would like cheese/crackers with your wine please bring these along.

Costs

A payment of £36 is made for three tasting sessions. There is NO membership fee. The monies pay for:

  • The Premises
  • Administration
  • The Wines, we normally have 8 wines varying in price from £5 to £70 per bottle.
  • Speakers
  • Subsidised Events
